Report: Google maybe creating “Mobile Meter” app/service to reward you for letting them track usage

jokomp3.blogspot.com - According to a report out of Engadget, Google is preparing a new “Mobile Meter” service or app that they want to you use in exchange for compensation or rewards. The app’s purpose is to closely monitor your mobile behavior, which of course you would have to opt-in to. Once you opt-in, the service would send your anonymized app usage and browsing habits back to Google, so that they could fine-tune app experiences, make decisions on new products to introduce, or figure out additional ways to continue to make money – that type of thing.

Companies like Nielsen apparently already do similar opt-in services that reward users, but when it’s Google that’s entering the arena, I tend to pay close attention. Unfortunately, I don’t know what kind of compensation or rewards that Google would hand out to users, but things like Google Play credits would make a lot of sense.

Google would not comment on the rumor.

Would you be interested in an opt-in data tracker that could earn you rewards?
