8 lovely ladies, (L to R) Emily, Patricia, Cecilia, Joane, Phoebii, Pamela, Yenn Theng and Cheryl joined me for an afternoon of fun bake-along session on 5 July 2014

It has always been my dream to conduct a baking class one day since I picked up baking three years ago. Teaching is not new to me as I used to be a music teacher. This dream is fulfilled much earlier by
LessonsGoWhere (LGW) when they approached me about a month ago and invited me to be a blogger chef to conduct my own baking lesson. I am truly thankful to LGW for giving me this opportunity to host my first baking workshop and also the first Magic Custard Cake baking class ever conducted! I also want to give thanks and glory to God who has blessed me and guided me along my baking journey with great support from family and friends.
When the workshop date was finalised, I began working on my lesson plan and preparing workshop notes with step by step tutorial photos for my participants. We have limited the workshop to only 8 participants per session as we want to increase learning and success as well as giving more attention to each participant.

Workshop notes prepared for my participants |
In preparation, I have also baked the magic custard cake (mcc) several times as I wanted to adjust the recipe until I have achieved the right amount for a disposable baking tray which was used during the workshop. My dear hubby has also given me the idea to churn out QR codes and placed them on my workshop notes which conveniently direct one to the full Magic Custard Cake recipe in my blog as well as my video tutorial on YouTube. Here are the QR codes:

The night before the workshop, I was thinking to myself, this magic custard cake is a special cake which is not sold or found in any bakery yet. Many would not have tried or even heard of it. I wanted my participants to try this special and unique magic custard cake before they even bake it. Thus, two flavours - original and matcha were churned out at midnight!

While the magic custard cakes were baking, we made some German melt-in-the-mouth Butter Cookies |

Standing next to me is my dear friend Emily, just beside her is Yenn Theng. Emily is one who has inspired me to pick up baking and has given me great support and encouragement throughout my baking journey. She even came to support me at my first baking workshop! I am so blessed to have a true friend like her! I also want to thank my hubby who took time to bring me to buy the chef coat as well as surprised me with my Baking Taitai's blog name embroidered on it. The embroidery is even done in the same hue of pink as my Baking Taitai's logo! :) |

Here's Phoebii and Patricia who are my fans and followers of my Facebook page and blog, so happy to meet them and so thankful for their great support too!

I am especially thankful to Tra and E-Fei of
LessonsGoWhere who have both helped me greatly during the workshop by capturing these special moments and for washing up the loads of baking tools and utensils and not forgetting to thank Lena of the
The Baking Loft for helping out during the workshop too. Lastly, I want to thank
Brandt for providing the recipe books - 'Simple Pleasures from the Kitchen' which I have given each participant a copy to bring home.
I have truly enjoyed hosting this workshop and am happy to receive positive feedbacks from my participants who are looking forward to more classes from me. And I do look forward to my next class in August too!
