Honduran model and ex-Miss Honduras 2009, Belgica Suarez has been arrested this Wednesday in her country due to failure to report 33,000 Euros (around USD$47,000) in cash to the authorities as she came back from Nicaragua, local police said.

The operation took place between the towns of Tegucigalpa and Danlí, moments after she crossed Honduras border customs from Nicaragua.

An informant told the press that when questioned, she said that the money was earned as her model gig in Europe. The Honduran law demands that any amount over $10,000 must be reported.

Suarez represented Honduras at Miss Universe in 2009, in Bahamas.
